Magical Metaphors
I'll be speaking as part of the University of Michigan Distinguished Speaker series on November 5th in Ann Arbor, presenting a new talk entitled "Sleight of Hand: How Bodies Fool Minds."

My recent talk about "Empathy: A Job Skill" at the GEL conference
(it stands for "Good Experience Live") in New York City was a hit. Conference producer Mark Hurst, who also publishes the Good Experience newsletter & blog, says: "Jamy Ian Swiss was one of the most popular speakers we've ever had at the GEL conference. His presentation blended themes of marketing, design, history, psychology, performance, and ended with a custom-built experience that brought together a central takeaway of the entire event."

Jamy LIVEIn the past year I've made public speaking appearances for Adobe, Intuit, Electronic Arts, and at conferences including Flash Forward (read this review of my talk; scroll down the page), "Serious Play" at the Art Center College of Design, and The EG (Entertainment Gathering) in Monterey (where I will return for my third consecutive appearance in January of 2010). Many of these presentations have been for audiences of designers and user experience folks, while I also do talks about creativity, brainstorming, risk management, and more - learn more about Magical Metaphors, or contact me now to find out more about corporate speaking engagements customized to your organization's unique needs and challenges - presentations that will leave your people with meaningful new solutions and lasting take-aways. Magic makes it memorable!
If you're new to my list and missed Adam Gopnik's 14-page piece about the art of magic and me in The New Yorker, you can find it here.

Finally, if you haven't visited my website or news blog lately, use these links to take a look now! The news page includes links to YouTube videos, latest photos, and more - including a great video from the last EG conference in which you can see me "Dancing With Matts" ... well, you just have to look to find out more!

I do hope to see you next week in New  York City, next month in Washington, DC, or at your next corporate or private event. Drop me a line and let's talk about how we can make magic together!

Sincerely,
Jamy Ian Swiss
