The Swiss Movement
January, 2009
Greetings!

Happy 2009!  In this installment you'll find my January public performance dates in New York and Los Angeles, along with all the latest news...
Magical Nights at Feinstein's
at the LoewJamy LIVEs Regency
On Sunday, January 25th, I'll be headlining at Feinstein's in the Loews Regency Hotel, Park Avenue's premiere Manhattan cabaret. The room is exquisite, the food is terrific, the service is fabulous - and you also get New York's best close-up magicians performing right at your table starting at 6 pm, and then a two-act magic show at 8 pm. Buy tickets here or contact me for further details (note that I'll also be MCing the show the week before, January 18th).
The Jamy LIVEMagic Castle - 2 nights only!
On Friday and Saturday, January 30th & 31st, I'll return for two nights to the Magic Castle in Hollywood, where I'll perform behind the W.C. Fields bar.  The Fields bar is a unique space at the Castle, where I perform more or less continuously from 8 pm 'till midnight. Contact me to attend, and if you want to have dinner you need to make reservations promptly!
Magical MeJamy LIVEtaphors
2008 was a year that saw me doing many more corporate speaking engagements, not only my "Magical Metaphors" talks about creativity, brainstorming, and risk management, but also my new talk, "How Magic Works,' that debuted at the EG conference. I presented "How Magic Works" - which offers unique insights into how many things work, including software and interface design, screen-writing, Aristotlean tragedy, and much more - for designers at Intuit, user interface folks at Adobe, game creators at Electronic Arts, and Flash technologist at the Flash Forward conference (where I also hosted their awards show).  Contact me now to find out more about corporate speaking engagements customized to your organization's unique needs and challenges - presentations that will leave your people with meaningful new solutions and memorable take-aways!
The New Yorker
If you missed the lengthy profile piece about magic (and yours truly) in the New Yorker, click on Mark Stutzman's original artwork below and it will take you to Adam Gopnik's insightful feature.

And if you haven't been to my new website or my news page, use these links to take a look now!  The news page includes links to YouTube videos, latest photos, and more - including a great video from the recent EG conference in which you can see me "Dancing With MaJamy LIVEtts" ... well, you just have to look to find out more!

I do hope to see you in the next two
weeks at Feinstein's, Monday Night Magic, or the Magic Castle - or at your next corporate or private event.  Drop me a line and let's talk about how we can make magic together!

Sincerely,

Jamy Ian Swiss
