Climate change study on Colombian birds highlights the need for new protected areas

New research just published uses ProAves data and other sources to determine the effects of climate change on birds in Colombia. The results project that climate change will severely impact many endemics unless strategic new reserves are established and existing reserves and parks are expanded.

Ranita Dorada Amphibian Reserve Reforested Reforestacion

  

With the support of NMBCA and Dendrobatidae Nederland, ProAves has reforested over 15,000 native trees across pasturelands in the Ranita Dorada Reserve (119 acres). Overall, 40% of the pasturelands purchased are fully reforested while we work to ensure the last areas are restored.
