Bromelias El DoradoRediscovery of lost Bromeliad species in El Dorado Reserve
Studies of the spectacular Bromeliads in the El Dorado Bird Reserve in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta has rediscovered three species not reported since 1946, two since 1960, and five before 1983!  Of those species, two are Critically Endangered, six are Endangered and two are Vulnerable to extinction. Seven Bromeliad species are only from within the El Dorado reserve. Read more...
Festival PaujilCommunity leads the 6th Blue-billed Curassow Festival
The town of Puerto Boyac�, Boyac� Department, beside the last stronghold of the Critically Endangered Blue-billed Curassow (Crax alberti) in the Paujil reserve, held the 6th annual Paujil Festival with the aim of generating awareness and ownership of this Colombian endemic species. Around 1,200 kids and adults participated.
