Paramillo Tapaculo Scytalopus canus ProAves expedition solves Tapaculo mystery
A ProAves expedition led by Council member Dr Niels Krabbe to Páramo del Sol, Antioquia gathered data to establish that the Paramo Tapaculo Scytalopus canus at this site is a distinct species. Restricted to a tiny area of vegetation above the treeline on Paramo del Sol and Paramillo, the renamed species, Paramillo Tapaculo, is considered to be at serious risk of extinction. Read more...

ProAves and The Wetland Trust are pleased to invite applicants to the 5th Banding Training Course by experts from the UK and Colombia from March 27-April 4 in El Dorado Bird Reserve.
