 ProAves expedition solves Tapaculo mystery
A ProAves expedition led by Council member Dr Niels Krabbe to Páramo del Sol, Antioquia gathered data to establish that the Paramo Tapaculo Scytalopus canus at this site is a distinct species. Restricted to a tiny area of vegetation above the treeline on Paramo del Sol and Paramillo, the renamed species, Paramillo Tapaculo, is considered to be at serious risk of extinction. Read more... |
