 A brighter future for the Niceforo`s Wren
ProAves has established the first protected area for the Critically Endangered Niceforo's Wren and many other threatened flora and fauna restricted to the endangered dry forests of the Chicamocha Valley. The new 1,300 ha Cucarachero del Chicamocha Nature Reserve protects one of the last intact remnants of dry forest for the region. See more.

 Medical checkup for Women for Conservation
ProAves provided a comprehensive medical and health checkup for the members of its Women for Conservation program and their families beside El Paujil Bird Reserve. During the event, women and children received for the first time free medical and dental care, and school kits as well as gas stoves and cylinders to cook without using firewood.  Yellow-throated Warbler: Colombia's first "twitch"
One vagrant Yellow-throated Warbler present in El Dorado Nature Reserve for several months resulted in perhaps Colombia's first "twitch" (an actitvity where sometimes hundreds of birders will travel to a site to observe a very rare bird species) to see this Neotropical migrant first confirmed locality in Colombia at one the most spectacular birding places in the world.
