Huge boost for Yellow-eared Parrot population
An unprecedented 203 Yellow-eared Parrot chicks successfully fledged from natural nests and
artificial nest boxes between May-July 2008. This is the highest fledgling success ever recorded by the project since commencing in June 1998. The global population of the Critically Endangered Yellow-eared Parrot has now exceeded 1,000 individuals, having been on the edge of extinction with just 81 birds in May 1999. See more.
