Getting customers to say yes
Plenty of food for thought in this Forbes article about how to get your customer to start thinking about, and saying yes to, energy upgrades. What they're suggesting is very close to the Energy Performance Certificate that the Europeans are now using. Think our politicians will take us down that path? Think the market will do it naturally? I'd love to hear from you.

Novel thoughts
Having the odd job that I have, I get to spend most of my days reading. This year, as it is with most years, I set a goal for my reading. It's good to have goals. I wrote this story about what I learned along the way. I hope you enjoy it.

Just like the old days
I'm probably showing my age here, but when I started working for the manufacturers' rep back in 1970 and they sent me out on the road a few years later, I had to wear a suit and the car they gave me to drive had no air conditioning. I drove with the windows open. Remembering that made me smile when I read this article. Are we spoiled?

And there may be more of those days ahead
I've never lived more than 15 minutes away from the ocean, and Marianne and I spend a lot of time on the beach. This summer, the ocean has been warmer than either of us can ever remember, which is nice. Unless you're trying to cool a nuclear reactor. Here's the story.
