In the spirit of thermal bipartisanship
I thought this was a terrific article from Slate and wanted to share it with you. It has some good history, but what I like best about the article is the way the human side always seems to lean heavily on the engineering and the data. As always, I love hearing your thoughts.

Does efficiency raise a home's value?
According to this article, it does, and by about nine percent. Lots of food for thought in this one. Do you think nine percent is enough to change the way people buy?

Nothing to do with heating
But once again, we hear from the brains at MIT. This time it's about the engineering that goes into the Olympics. And they're not talking about the buildings. I'm not worthy.

"I'm stubborn."
Great last word from this article about the challenges of building a Passive House in North America where the climate varies more than it does in Europe. Thanks to subscriber, Robert O'Brien, for the heads-up on this one.

One more!
Robert O'Brien is a very generous guy when it comes to sharing knowledge and I love getting these links from him. He sent me this one about a remarkable solar development. Thanks, Robert!

Here's some more interesting technology
I always find these projects that come out of someone being in the Peace Corp interesting. This one in particular caught my attention and I wanted to share it with you. I hope it works out as planned.

Also interesting as all get-out
This one is from subscriber, Mark Kretz, who is an engineer in Sweden and always has interesting news for us. He writes, "Hello! As a small contribution to your interesting information you can read this little example from Sweden. In the county (kommun) Lerum at the westcoast of Sweden, they will put up noise barriers that produce solar energy for distribution to local district heating systems." When you get to the site, hover over the In English button on the header. Unless you can read Swedish, that is. And if can, I'm proud of you. Thanks, Mark!
