The $200,000 idea
Don't you wish you had thought of this? I don't think the invention will do much for those steam radiators that stay cool because of poor system balance caused by improper air venting, but it sure will be interesting to watch as they do the work. Stay tuned.

Summer fun
Ever been to Ocean City, MD? We were there when the girls were young and back again when they were older. We made lots of summer memories on those trips. The reason why I bring it up is because PPMCSA is having their summer conference there this year from July 8-10 in Ocean City, MD. They'll have two half-day sessions, which will give you plenty of time to spend with your family and enjoy the beach and boardwalk. The hotel deadline is June 7, so register soon if you plan to attend. Here's the info.

Is solar thermal dead? (Revisted)
A few weeks back, I shared this link with you and it provoked quite a response. Subscriber, Jessica Baldwin, wrote to say, "This article is great for those who have a dedicated acre on which to install PV equipment rated for a 10-year lifespan. In case you haven't noticed the trends, vital signs are looking very productive for solar thermal." I wrote back (I love hearing from subscribers) and asked her for some links to make the argument. She contacted Chip Bircher of USH2O and he sent me this link as well as this link. Good reading, and I appreciate both Jessica and Chip for all that they do. Thanks for writing!

Plastic to oil?
Subscriber, Deidre Buchner, sent me a link to this video and I was skeptical, so I checked around and found this commentary about the whole business. What do you think?

What to do with your flooded mine
Use it as a geothermal source and heat a town or two. I've been seeing this happening in a bunch of places. Here is a good, brief explanation.

Nothing to do with heating
Subscriber, Clif Heeney, sent me this link to a handful of videos about professions that are just about obsolete. One program is more beautiful than the next. I'd love to spend more time with each of these masters. Thanks, Clif.

Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame!
This article from the University of Notre Dame student newspaper caught my eye because our daughter, Kelly, attended that fine university, graduating 12 years ago (time flies). I'm still paying for it. During the years she was there, Kelly had a roommate, Kathy, who graduated as a mechanical engineer (Kelly graduated with a degree in Irish Studies. Don't ask.). In all the years Kathy spent at N.D., she never once went to the power plant. Nor did she even know N.D. has a power plant. This, as you might suspect, made me crazy. It's grand to see they've finally discovered it.

Advanced Learning
A story I wrote for your consideration. If you've been to the Wall at our site, you know who Tim McElwain is. That man is an industry treasure.
