The 1900 House
A few years ago, PBS had a series called The 1900 House (you can get it on DVD). It took place in England and the idea was to strip an old house of all its modern conveniences and get a family to live there for a good long time. It's quite a show, and if you watch it, I promise you'll come away with a great appreciation for things we now consider mundane. Anyway, the 1900 House is no more and is currently for sale. Here's the story.

NYC's greenest skyscrapers
Nice quick article here from Inhabitat. I think it's fun to see the regal old Empire State Building, with its 1929 steam system making the cut.

"Cute and disgusting at the same time"

Some programmable thermostats can confuse the average homeowner. That's what this article is about, and when something is confusing, it doesn't get used properly. Thanks to subscriber, Ray Wohlfarth, for sharing this one. Ray is now writing about commercial boilers for Plumbing & Mechanical magazine. Check him out here.
