Are skyscrapers efficient?
Burj KhalifaWell, some more than others, as you'll see if you take this slide-show tour of 10 of the world's tallest buildings. The Empire State Building, which just received LEED-Gold status, is noticeably missing.

Natural gas and supply and demand
graph: natural gas consumption vs priceLots of food for thought in this article. As demand increases, will supplies decrease to force a rise in price? What do you think?
Nothing to do with heating
Senator LeahyBut if you're in business, this proposed new law should interest you. Thank you, Senator Leahy.

What we believe, and don't
climate changeI was with a good friend recently who was explaining to me that climate change is just a lot of bunk and that someone would have to be an idiot to believe any of it's true. I listened. I'm very good at listening. Then subscriber, Paul Pollets, shared this with me, and I thought I'd share it with you. How good are you at listening?

The answer to an old solar question
Hamburg, Germany - District heatingIf you have solar thermal, what do you do with the excess heat if you don't need it right now? Speaking of solar thermal
mojave desert solar2013 will be the year that we see the world's largest solar-thermal plant come on line, and it's right here in the U.S.A. Here's the story.
Watch traps wirelessly
GoodlinThanks to subscriber, Alex Marx (The Wire Nut), for sharing this blurb about a new product that keeps its ear on steam traps and pressure-relief valves without the need of any wires. I wish I had thought of this.

Hug your kids.
