I don't get no respect
Not if you're a radiator in Cape May, New Jersey, you don't. I wrote this story about a Victorian beauty that had been seriously abused by a butcher. Gives me the shiverin' fits just to think about it!

A tankless hotel
Thanks to subscriber, Noel Kelly, for sharing this story about a hotel that decided to leave the domestic-hot-water tanks behind and try something different. Love 'em or hate 'em, tankless heaters seem to be making good inroads in the commercial world of water heating.

A mature solution
Rather than fighting, the folks from the corporation and the environmentalist came up with this wonderful solution to what could have been a major problem for the people of Boston. Smart stuff. Thanks to Erin Haskell for the heads-up!

And as long as we're talking Cambridge
Let's take another peek at what the brains at MIT are coming up with these days. Once again, I stand intimidated. (Thanks again to Erin for finding this one.)

Go tap a volcano
That's what the Icelanders want to do, along with stringing the world's longest power cable (all the way to Scotland). I'm going to be visiting Iceland later this month and I'll see what I can learn about this, and all the other stuff they're up to in that fascinating country. Stay tuned.

Free Willy
Nothing to do with heating, but thanks to subscriber, Mike Sommer, for sharing this great video. The soldiers are in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the Jeep is a veteran of World War II. Try doing this with your ride.

Open to question
But still pretty interesting. Here's a new process for getting plants to poop diesel fuel. Think they're on to something here? Thanks to subscriber, Tom Riso, for finding and sharing this story.

Smart or not smart?
What do you think about this? A customer calls a heating company in Georgia and has a dispute over pricing (all the details are in the link). The customer makes a comment on Yahoo about the company, and the company responds with a legal letter. The customer withdraws the Yahoo comment and complains to the Better Business Bureau. The company then opens a Web site in the customer's name, giving his name, address, and phone number, along with all these comments. Read through it and let me know if you think this is a good way to do business. Would you do it? Here's the link.
