Parking lot collectors?
Here's a story about a Massachusetts company that wants to turn hotel parking lots into solar collectors (for domestic hot-water heating) by burying PEX about an inch below the surface of the lot. What happens when the folks staying at the hotel park their cars? And if lots of folks are parking, wouldn't that be when they need the most domestic hot-water? What am I missing here?

Speaking of parking lots
Take a look at what's about to open at the Denver International Airport. It doesn't matter how many of us park in this place. It probably cost a bit more, though, eh?

Passive house comes to Brooklyn
It's not exactly what you'd expect to find in a neighborhood such as this one, but here it is. I love stuff like this. How about you?

Hot stuff
Thanks to subscriber, Paul Pollets for the heads-up on this story. I'll be traveling to Iceland next March with some friends to check out the way they heat that whole country with what's under their feet. Fascinating stuff. I'll let you know how it goes.

And while we're at it
Here's a very interesting video, which Paul Pollets also sent me. He writes, "My young cuz just got his PHd in mechanical engineering from UCLA and sent this along." This video is about making meaning, and that's what motivates most of the people that I know.

One more
As you scroll through all these creative ways of hiding "ugly" radiators, consider how cold some of the occupants must be. I figure as long as there are decorators, heating professionals are going to be in great demand, and I think that's just splendid.
