Invention
EwingI love stories like this one, where someone not in the energy business sees a need, tries to buy a product to satisfy that need, can't find such a project, and the rest of the story is just terrific. I hope this catches on big for her. Don't miss the video; she's delightful.

Fill 'er up with crab grass?
engineOr how about that old tree in your backyard? That could be the case if this research from the University of Massachusetts works out. If we're going to turn plants into fuel, I'd rather those plants be ones people can't eat. But that's just me.
Keep your eye on Denmark
As most of the world sits and talks about what to do to save energy and reduce carbon emissions, the Danes just shut up and do it. Here, read about what they're up to next. I'm inspired.
Europe on wheels
European Mobility WeeksMy buddy, Clif Heeney, is an American expatriate, now living in Tallinn, Estonia with his wife and kids. I always enjoy hearing from him and getting his insights on life in Estonia. He writes, "Here is a link that I thought that you might be interested in. It concerns a European Union initiative designed to help people make the decision to take more public transportation, to use bicycles and to walk more often. I think that this type of campaign might help our American energy needs as well as our waistlines." Got that right, Clif!
Old baths found
roman bathsCheck out these old Asia Minor baths they just dug up. Those Romans really knew how to party, and they knew a few things about radiant heat. Pass the soap!
Drinking and driving?
whiskey biofuelMy friend, Noel Kelly, who is also a subscriber, pointed out this wonderful news. This is the ultimate case of one for the road. Belly up!
Energy Innovation Hub
Penn State Navy YardAnother school, Penn State, is getting a shot to lead a group with a whole lot of our money. They'll be doing some very serious thinking about energy-efficient buildings use in houses. Take a look.
