Provocative stuff from Congressman Baird here. Not sure if I could have gotten the four daughters to go for those military showers when I was paying for the oil, but provocative nonetheless. Troubles Down Under
The Australian Government's Energy Efficient Homes Package is a $3.9 billion effort to improve the energy rating of Australian homes by offering homeowners a $1,200 rebate for having insulation put into ceilings. However, it looks like the installers are moving too quickly to take advantage of that program. Check out this story.

How's this for finding new combinations?
Put a data center in an old bomb shelter and use the heat from the computers to warm hundreds of nearby homes and businesses in Helsinki. Waste not, want not.

According to this recent Gallup poll, Americans are caring less about the environment these days. Could be because we're convinced that things are moving in the right direction when it comes to the green stuff, or it could be that we've got other things on our minds right now. Hmm.
