District Heating in Denmark
I came across this interesting PowerPoint presentation by the Managing Director of the Danish Board of District Heating. Download the PowerPoint PDF and check out the statistics. The Danes have come a long way in a short time. The two things I remember most about my travels there (besides the Carlsberg and the Little Mermaid) were the wind turbines and all these small district power plants. It's an interesting and very memorable country.

And some interesting thoughts from Sweden
I came across an interesting paper and added it to the Library on our site. It's a good discussion of district heating in Sweden (a socialist country) and the conclusion is that they're better off letting private companies run the local district heating plants rather than have them owned by the government.

That's a mighty skinny house!
How'd you like to live in this place? My favorite line in the story is the last one.

The geothermal business
There are some interesting insights about being in the geothermal business in this article and I thought I'd share them with you. Good stuff about the pumps.

Want to climb a wind turbine?
Check out this video. I've been inside one of these beasts and looked up, but I never had the desire to climb. I guess that makes me old. While we're at it, check out this maniac.

By 2020, the standards for the energy efficiency in U.K. buildings will be so strict that owners may never be able to sell those older buildings, even the ones of historical significance. Here's why.

The greenest house in Canada
That would be my guess. It was certainly the greenest house at the Winter Olympics. Check out this Passive House and keep your eye on this trend. I think it's going to play a much bigger part in construction in the years to come.

I hate when that happens
It's amazing how much damage a broken valve can do when it lets loose over a holiday weekend. Check this out. I'm sure there are many fingers pointing in Reading, Pennsylvania.
