Happy New Year!
As we look forward to 2010, we thank you for all you have done to inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow in our community.
With your help...
- More than 5,500 area youth participated in after-school programs, day care, education opportunities, mentoring, therapy, advocacy, and other organized activities.
- Over 900 at-risk residents were provided supports to maintain or gain employment. These supports include resume and interview coaching, on-the-job training, reliable affordable childcare, and legal counseling.
- More than 935,000 meals were provided to local residents experiencing hunger, with approximately 50% going to children and 15% to seniors.
- Nearly 11,000 residents in need were provided with medical services, equipment, prescription assistance, screenings, and counseling enabling them to maintain their health.
Your support of United Way during the past year is truly appreciated. Your actions create a better community for all of us. We have more work to do in 2010 and look forward to partnering with you again. Together we can make our community stronger and more vibrant. GIVE. ADVOCATE. VOLUNTEER!
May you enjoy a New Year filled with cheer and joy!
Warm Regards, Your friends at United Way of Monroe County | |
