I've just shaken off that last chill of winter and all along the future's horizon I see tropical palm trees swaying in the soft southern breeze. This is the summer for a Texas Pool staycation/vacation. Why spend thousands of dollars and days in travel transit when one can soak up the palm trees, sunshine and sub-tropical weather for the entire summer shore-side at the Texas Pool. Around my house, the first day of springtime echoes with the cry of small voices asking, "How long before the Texas Pool opens?" It won't be long now and we're working on some fantastic surprise events for this year's swim season as our spring cleaning and membership drive get underway. So unpack your snorkel, and set sail for a summer long staycation/vacation
and I'll see y'all at the Texas Pool.

| Neighbors You Should Know Becca Beckham |
 |
Plano resident, Becca Beckham joined the Texas Pool this year as our new Secretary Ms. Beckham is a life-long Plano resident and Plano High School graduate - and for all who are new to Plano that was prior to the Plano Senior High School being built! Becca remembers attending elementary school in Plano when the population boom requiried PISD to rent houses in the neighborhood of the Texas Pool to house first graders. The three "elementary houses" were just west of where Sigler Elementary School resides now. Ms Beckham has two children, Morgan (27) and Ben (16), and is the educational guardian for Arthur and Lee Skinner. Ben and the Skinner twins attend Vines High School at 10th graders and Morgan is married working for KPMG in downtown Dallas. Becca brings years of business-to-business experience to the board. She established her own lighting business in the eighties, worked for IBM in the nineties and now works as an independent contractor offering marketing services and business intelligence services to various companies. Becca's personal interests include writing, photography, networking services, natural health and healing through herbal treatments, Plano Wildcat Football, Plano Wildcat Football and did I mention Plano Wildcat Football. GO WILDCATS!!! | | |

Parking Update: According to Contractor and TX Pool Board member, Frank Runey, the construction and road work in front of the Texas Pool should be completed by opening date, June 6th. Thanks to all the Texas Pool members who contacted the city and came out in support of the Texas Pool on this parking issue. Cheers! Vandalism: The Texas Pool was broken into recently, with interior destruction and exterior graffiti to the building and premises. Texas Pool property was stolen and damaged. The Plano Police met with members of the Texas Pool Board to report this crime. Let's all keep an eye out for criminal behavior at the pool. If you see something suspicious, please call a Texas Pool Board member so that we may check it out and contact the proper authorities. Together we can keep our Texas Pool secure and safe for everyone. Spring Cleaning: The following is a list of spring cleaning needs to get us ready for the upcoming swim season. This is a fabulous opportunity for youth and adults to gain valuable community service experience and hours. Please contact Kim Roddy to volunteer/schedule: president@texaspool.org
