 Kim
Kim Roddy

Kim was transplanted from Wisconsin to Plano, Tx in April 1999.  She came here with her husband, Matt, and their 3 children, Ashlee, Logan and Emily.  They have all been Texas Pool members since 1999. Logan and Emily took swimming lessons at the pool in 1999!

She is 4th of 5 in her family.  2 sisters and 2 brothers.  She now has 12 nieces and nephews and is proud of each of them and their accomplishments.

Kim has been an active Girl Scout leader for a long time, this being the 15th year as a leader.  She has earned many awards from the Girl Scout councils, both in Wisconsin and Texas.

She is a past member of the Sand County Players, the community theatre group in Adams-Friendship, WI.  She has been a part of the costume/props department, the set/stage building group and an actress.  Her first show was "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," where she played the role of Napthali's wife, singing and dancing on the stage!  A great time!!  During this show, she won the "Penny Award." This award is a SCP token for the person on cast with the "I Can Do It" attitude!   She went on in the Sand County Players to produce and help direct shows.

Kim loves being a mom, wife and friend.  Hanging out at the pool is one of her favorite things to do.  That is, when it's sunny and hot!!  However, she plans on being a "Polar Bear" on January 10!!
Her other hobbies include reading, watching movies, having fun and naps.  There isn't much time left for other things!  She likes it that way.
One of her favorite quotes is "You are only as old as you act.  Today I choose to be 9!"

Kim joined the Board of the Texas Pool in February 2008, as Treasurer.  She was elected President in September 2008 and is proud to be a part of such a unique and fun atmosphere.
Currently unemployed (but still looking) she is working on the Polar Bear Plunge committee and trying to get the Texas Pool its' historic status for the city of Plano.

Make sure to say "hi" when you see her at the pool, or in the neighborhood.

A Texas Pool Holiday Legacy
 twins
In this season of joy, we gather together to celebrate life's journey together, to embrace a concept greater than ourselves, to take pride in creating a legacy of love and of giving, hoping to create in our world, our community, our neighborhood, something lasting,
something good.

The Texas Pool is such a legacy. As we celebrate the memories of lives well lived, golden summers at the Texas Pool, happy times in the presence of loved ones, let us give of ourselves to preserve this Texas Landmark.  And with the New Year, may we carry our hopes and dreams with us, making a positive difference in the lives of children and families within our neighborhood and our community.

I ask you to please contribute your time,  energy,  prayers, and resources to help the Texas Pool thrive and grow, to provide wholesome family fun, an oasis for Texas families.

We have many blessings in our lives, among them, the Texas Pool Family.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
and in the New Year 2009....
