Texas Pool 1960's
Thankful for the Texas Pool
Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!
Seasonally we gather together to give thanks for our many blessings as a community, as neighbors, as family. We are especially thankful this year for our Texas Pool Family (that includes each of you!). Current economic times are tough yet when we stand together, we Texans are far tougher. Together we can accomplish anything. This autumn and throughout the wintertime your Texas Pool Board of volunteers continues to work for you to secure the pool for another summer of water fun. Projects underway include historical landmark designation for the Texas Pool, repair of the office, cleaning and servicing of the salt water system pumps, our preseason membership/Friends of the Texas Pool drive and .....the 1st Annual Texas Pool Polar Bear Plunge. Just how cold is the Texas Pool water in January? Can y'all say, "Chili?" Cook Off that is (no competition just yummy pots of hot savory stews for samplin') and a Polar Bear swim designed to put the splash back in anybody's New Year. On your mark, get set...plunge!
I'll see y'all at the Texas Pool.

Neighbors You Should Know
Hi all, my name is Joshua P. Runey and I am a Corporal in the United States Marines. I have been a member of this community since 1999 and graduated from Plano West Senior High in 2003. I attended Navarro Junior College and worked in the Dallas area before joining the Corp. I attended Boot Camp in San Diego and graduated as a Private First Class. I went on to Virginia to train for my duties in the corp. I recently went to Iraq for a tour as a .50 cal gunner on security mission transporting people and equipment around Iraq. I returned home safe along with my entire unit. I will leave in June for more schooling at Quantico to become an Embassy Guard at one of our many American Embassies around the world. I am now attending Corporal school and taking college courses so that when the time comes I can either work with the CIA or FBI.
I want to Thank Everyone for their prayers and letters while I was overseas. I hope at some point and time I get the chance to meet each of you and Thank You personally. If you have any questions about me or the Marine Corp. feel free to ask my Mom or Dad (Frank and Paula Runey) they can fill you in on all the details. Thanks for the opportunity to get to know each of you and for you all to get to know me. See you around the pool sometime soon! Semper Fidelis Cpl. Runey Joshua P. United States Marine Corp.
Cpl. Runey is the son of Texas Pool Board Members
