Chilly weather on the horizon reminds me of summertime at the Texas Pool, the aroma of coconut oil, the splash of cheerful voices around me, it's those warm poolside memories that get me through the cold spots of life. Of course in this off season we've got some Texas Pool sized surprises planned that'll warm the hair on your toes, get ya out of the house and down to the Texas Pool.
On October 7th we partied with the Plano Police and Fire Departments, a camera crew from the City of Plano, the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, local businesses, a Bouncie House (courtesy of Don Coomber, cheers Don!) and over 100 of our closest friends (that would be y'all) who gathered to swim, eat hot dogs, and meet the neighbors for National Night Out. A big Texas Pool thank you to everyone who participated!
This Halloween, plan to Trick-or-Treat at the Roddy's Spooky House just around the corner from the Texas Pool at Edgefield & Janwood (the NW corner). You never know ghoul you'll run into (we promise some Texas Pool treats so no tricks!).
In the works, the great "Polar Bear Plunge." So keep the frost off your goggles and I'll see y'all at the Texas Pool.

Featured Series: Neighbors You Should Know
Officer Kanvin Rankin, pictured here with TX Pool Board Member Elizabeth Miller on National Night Out, is our very own Neighborhood Police Officer. Officer Rankin believes that "to effectively serve the community, a partnership between police officers and the citizens must exist." We welcome Officer Rankin and will look for him patroling the neighborhood on foot, mountain bike, and via marked patrol vehicle. He is certainly a neighbor you should know. |
