Greetings!
Save the date! It's is a special year for PoundHounds. This year's Barktoberfest & Family Fun Day marks the 10th Anniversary of helping the invisible dogs in town pounds. Our annual fund-raising event will be held on Sunday, September 26th at the 4H Fairgrounds in Westford, MA rain or shine--there are several covered pavilions available if the weather doesn't cooperate.
This 10th Anniversary also marks an important milestone for PoundHounds. Since our inception, we've sponsored just over 1,000 dogs in 32 towns across Massachusetts, and counting!
 Barktoberfest is the ONLY event dedicated to raising money to care for the invisible dogs in town dog pounds in need of medical care, spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations, medications and behavioral training. Check out all the activities we have planned to celebrate this year in the information block below. Every year at Barktoberfest, we hold our Walk Fur Dogs fundraiser. This year, we need your help more than ever. We have received more than double the usual number of requests for medical care. We want to help as many of these dogs as possible but we need your help. If you've never walked before, please make this the year you do it. And if you've walked before, we're counting on you to do it again.
Please help the dogs who are counting on you and start raising funds. Scroll down to the Walk Fur Dogs section for links that will get you started soliciting pledges right away. Sign up now and recruit your friends, family and co-workers to sponsor you! Raise $100 or more in walk pledges and lunch for you and your immediate family is free.

It's All About Barktoberfest
Join this family fun and dog-friendly event to raise funds to help the invisible dogs in town pounds. Pick up some treats for you and Fido at the Bake Sale, enter your dog in a contest to win a dog-toy prize for Best Kisser, Best Booty Wiggle, Highest Jump and more. Scheduled events include obedience training basics, as well as Temperament Testing and Canine Good Citizenship by the North Shore Kennel Club. Check out our raffle items, browse vendor merchandise, check out the Rescue Groups and get your emergency pet care questions answered by at a Canine First Aid demonstration.
Treat your canine companion to a massage or Reiki session, and enjoy hamburgers, frankfurters, veggie burgers, turkey burgers and sausages from our grill. Most of all, spend a great day outside with your dog! And remember, all proceeds help the dogs in town pounds.

Barktoberfest 'Walk Fur Dogs'
 It's an easy walk around the 4-H Fairgrounds. You can walk fast, slow, with or without a dog, with a friend, with family...any walk will be a fun walk and the pledges you raise will help the dogs who can't help themselves. If you can't attend the walk but would like to contribute by collecting pledges, there are plenty of rescue dogs who will be happy to 'step in' and walk on your behalf with someone from our PoundHounds volunteer network at the other end of the leash. To get started, click the link below and download the registration form from the PoundHounds website, or set up your personal web page to easily solicit pledges and monitor your fund-raising progress online.
