President's Letter

(Warning:  this PCS Newsletter contains information not suitable for those under the age of 8 yrs)

My son, Caden is 8 years old.  This is the first holiday season that he has declared he does not believe in Santa Claus, and it's my fault.  Last year I very proudly purchased a youth horse saddle for my two children on eBay.  It was my first "real" eBay purchase and I was rather proud of myself.  Unfortunately, after Christmas, my overzealous bragging conversations, with my sister, was overheard by my son.

"I thought Santa Claus brought that saddle" he said.  (Yikes--the word was out!) "No", I said, back-paddling as fast as I could, "Santa didn't have an eBay account, so I just helped him out!"  Can you imagine Santa with an eBay account?  Regardless of my attempt to clarify my involvement with Santa, Caden was a changed boy.

Change is inevitable and is not always a bad thing.  New ideas, new products and a new approach are good things and PCS will be embracing change as we roll into 2010.  We look forward to sharing more details on our upcoming modifications after the holidays.   However, even as we evolve, we remain at the core, a customer service centric company.  We believe in our products, professional services, installation services, and are committed to constant improvement.

As we close another business year, PCS is so very appreciative of all our loyal customers, key business partners and valued associates.  We appreciate and recognize the long-standing relationships and look forward to future interactions.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!  Just keep in mind that your previous perception may be altered to something (or someone) different.

Happy Holidays!

PCS and Harris Partner to Bring Interoperability to First Responders
Harris Unity XG-100
"Unite Your Entire Team With One Radio"

Harris Unity Radio

The Harris Unity XG-100 Full-Spectrum Multiband Radio is now available to federal, state, and local agencies through PCS.  This is the first portable "one-for-all" solution that delivers true interoperability to first responders and public safety professionals.

The Unity covers all of the public safety bands including 136-174, 380-520 and 762-870 MHz.  It operates in both analog and P25 modes including AES and DES secure encryption.  Internal GPS and Bluetooth are included at no extra cost.  The Unity's noise canceling microphone eliminates background noise even when operating in the P25 mode.  Emergency responders can now communicate within multiple jurisdictions and agencies operating on different frequencies and systems.  No longer is there a need to use several different radios to achieve interoperability with other responders during an incident.

The XG-100 is built to the same standards as the proven Harris military tactical radio products, offering extremely rugged construction that exceeds the toughest standards of operation in extreme environments.  This will make it easy and cost-effective for states and local agencies to make an investment in this new product.
