| Rock the Vote on Constitution Day 2012!
Constitution Day is an American federal observance recognizing the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is observed annually on September 17, the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787.
This year, to celebrate Constitution Day, the eLearning & Library Services staff are setting up a voter registration table in the Great Falls College MSU Atrium from 8:30am-4:30pm on Monday, September 17th. Individuals who wish to register to vote will be able to complete their application, and completed applications will be mailed in by the eLearning & Library Services Division. Stop by the table to register to vote and to enter a drawing to win an MP3 player or a jump drive. An online voter registration widget will also be available via the Weaver Library Web page at: http://library.msugf.edu .
A Freedom Graffiti Wall will be available for the campus community to express their thoughts and feelings on Constitutionally-granted freedoms and their relevance today. Those at a distance are invited to comment on the virtual Freedom Wall available via the eLearning & Library Services web pages
Peer to Peer Instruction - Dental & Graphics
Submitted by Gail Staples, Dental Hygiene Faculty
The DH program has worked with Rhonda Kueffler, Graphic/Web Design, and Ja Sweat in the Printing Center for the past 3 years. In the past, they were kind enough to come down to our classroom to discuss printing requirements and to give a "graphic design" eye and perspective to student posters being prepared for presentation at our Montana Dental Hygienist's Association Annual Session. By presenting, students receive continuing education credit toward their licensure.
Due to Rhonda's keen eye and suggestions for improvement on the designs, the professionals who listen to the students present have commented numerous times that the posters are very professional and visually appealing. We like to hang them in our hallways upon returning from MDHA so everyone can see how hard the students have worked and to also educate everyone who passes through the hallways of the dental department.
This year Rhonda and I discussed the possibility of bringing her world and my world together with these posters. We decided it would be a great opportunity to bring the 2 groups together to network on this assignment. We submitted the poster drafts to Rhonda to review. She then assigned the posters to her students to review, evaluate and create possible revisions. They will work with our group this Thursday in Rhonda's class room to help get the final draft complete prior to sending it to Ja for printing. We always do a dress rehearsal prior to leaving for the Annual Session. The students will do this in Heritage Hall. I have yet to reserve it but need to get going on that!

Employee Satisfaction Survey
Full-time faculty and staff at Great Falls College should have recently received an invitation to participate in a follow-up survey to the Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Survey administered last spring.
The follow-up survey seeks to better understand employees views on two issues: "communication between employees and senior management" and "management recognition of employee job performance". Both of these issues were highlighted as "opportunities" for improvement for Great Falls College.
This survey will remain open until Friday, September 21. Questions about this survey can be directed to any of the committee members: Bruce Gottwig, Leonard Bates, Marie Cherry, Courtney Johnsrud, Lee Anne Gills, Mary Kay Bonilla, or Wendy Dove. |
