Last issue
This is the final regular issue of Campus News for the 2011-12 Academic Year. However, since there are a number of exciting events coming up, such as the Groundbreaking for the new Child Development Center and the announcement of the Regents decision on MSU-Great Falls rebranding, we'll keep you informed via email periodically this summer.
It's Finals Week!
Finals Week - n. A dormant superhuman power laying in adults that comes out two-three times a year..." Urban Dictionary. Web. http://www.urbandictionary.com.
The Weaver Library and Student Government will provide fuel for all superhuman students during finals week Sunday, April 29-Wednesday, May 2. Stop by the library in the morning for bagels and coffee, and in the afternoon for cookies and lemonade. See you there, scholars!
Thank you, Pacific Steel & Recycling
Pacific Steel & Recycling has made a major donation to MSU - Great Falls, the College's largest-single gift to date, in order to establish the Child Development Center on campus. The Child Development Center at MSU - Great Falls will increase educational opportunities across the region, answering a long-term need for many student-parents and families that struggle to balance college with the cost and access of child care.
Pacific Steel & Recycling's donation is matched with approximately $1 million from a 2009 appropriation supported by the Great Falls legislative delegation and another $270,000+ in a private gifts campaign that has been led by the College's Development Board. The company also made an initial gift in 2008 to allow the College to develop this project. Combined, Pacific Steel & Recycling has pledged over $125,000 in support of student-parents and child development on campus.
"The employee-owners of Pacific are pleased to have been able to support the Child Development Center. Higher education and the importance of family are both highly valued by our company, and this project incorporates both of them," said Jeff Millhollin, President and CEO of Pacific Steel & Recycling.
Interior Design Student Showcase & Gala
The 2012 Interior Design Student Showcase will feature work from Interior Design students. The Showcase is open to the public in Heritage Hall on Wednesday and Thursday (May 2-3) from 9am to 5pm for viewing. The Annual Gala will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 7pm with a Mardi Gras Theme, awards in 10 categories, appetizers and desserts.
Dental Assisting Students Present
submitted by Robin Williams, Program Director The Dental Assistant program students displayed their Preventive Patient Posters to the MSU-Great Falls campus community. Each group was given a fictitious patient for whom they developed an oral hygiene plan based upon their special needs. During the poster session they answered questions about their patient and the plans that they developed. This year's Dental Assistant class did a great job on their presentations, showing everyone that they're ready to leave the nest and show the world what they can do!

Dental Hygiene students volunteer
submitted by Dental Hygine faculty

These bags contained a variety of dental products, including: toothbrushes, toothpaste, XyliMelts, Biotene, Spry xylitol mints, Listerine, and oral health instructions.
