Dr. Gwendolyn Joseph
Gwendolyn Joseph, who retired early as a vice president with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, has been appointed as the interim dean/CEO of the Montana State University-Great Falls College of Technology by MSU President Waded Cruzado.
Joseph's appointment began on Jan. 1, 2012. She will serve until a new dean/CEO is found to replace Joe Schaffer, who accepted the presidency of the Laramie County Community College in mid-November.
A search for a permanent dean/CEO of the COT will begin shortly, and university officials hope to have a new dean/CEO in office around the end of June. "After consulting with leaders in Great Falls, the university and the university system, Dr. Joseph was identified as an excellent candidate for this position because of her background and specialized experience with community and technical colleges," Cruzado said.
Based in Versailles, Ky., Joseph has been a vice president at KCTCS since 2006. She previously served as the dean of technical and continuing education at the south campus of San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas, from 1998 to 2006 and as a senior researcher for Decision Information Resources, Inc., of Houston, from 1993 to 1998. Joseph earned a bachelor's degree in government from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, and a master's degree in occupational education from the University of Houston, and a doctorate in educational administration/Community College Leadership Program from the University of Texas, Austin.
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System is a statewide system of 16 independently accredited, comprehensive community and technical colleges with 68 campuses, serving more than 100,000 students. Since its creation in 1997, KCTCS has become the largest provider of higher education and workforce training in Kentucky, with more than 600 credit program options. KCTCS provides traditional associate degrees, transfer programs, certificates, diplomas, and college and workforce readiness courses, delivered on campus and online.

During fall semester, the PTA Class of 2012 volunteered for a number of community and campus events, including the What Women Want Expo, the Buddy Walk, the Employee Health Check on campus.
They also held various fundraisers and donated proceeds to the local Veterans Center. This semester $105.00 was donated to the Center via the Association providing "vouchers" for motel stay at the Mid Town motel across from the Vets center.
