A new partnership has been developed between the Great Falls Public Schools and MSU - Great Falls with the creation of two pathways advisor positions. Bridgette Pence and Christine Perkins have been hired as the advisors and will be helping students choose a pathway in high school that steers them into a college program. Bridgette will have an office at Great Falls High School and Christine will be at CMR High School. Both will also spend some of their time at Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) at the MSU - Great Falls campus.

The three main areas of work for Christine and Bridgette will be: College Readiness and Transition, Dual Enrollment, and Career Pathways Advisement. The new positions will also be able to provide additional resources for the students like career searching, helping with college application processes and increasing financial literacy.

The Great Falls Tribune recently interviewed Assistant Dean of Student Services Judy Hay, along with the new advisors on this new venture. To read the full article, please click HERE.

United Way Campaign Starts Now!

United Way of Cascade Countyhas launched its annual fundraising campaign and you have the opportunity to help out.  The goal for this year is to raise $1,065,000. MSU - Great Falls faculty and staff emembers have participated in the campaign for the past four years and have contributed just over $21,000. Information on how you can help will be distributed across campus and in your mailboxes.  There are several options for giving including payroll deduction and writing a check.

Giving to United Way allows people to impact the entire community in the areas of education, income and health.  To ensure that our limited community resources are invested wisely and deliver positive results, funded services are evaluated throughout the year.  The United Way campaign also gives people the opportunity to direct their donations to specific nonprofits that are close to their hearts.

The Pacesetter campaign for United Way ends next week so please have your pledge forms to Scott or Greg by the afternoon of Wednesday, October 12th!! When you have completed your pledge form please put them in Scott Karaffa's mailbox or slide them under his office door located at B111.

If you have questions or need a pledge form, please feel free to email Scott Karaffa or call him at 771-5140 or Greg Stivers at 771-5124.
