| Celebrating the successes of 2010-2011
Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 3:00 pm at the University of Great Falls McLaughlin Center. A reception honoring graduates, their families and friends will be held in Heritage Hall following the ceremony. New records will be set this year in both the number of graduates (303) and the number of degrees (336) awarded. Denise Juneau, Superintendent of Public Instruction, will give the Commencement Address. The Sustainable Energy Technology program will celebrate its first graduating class.
On April 28 at the annual Scholarship Reception, scholarship winners met donors and took advantage of an 'Open Mike' to tell their stories and explain how important these financial awards are to their completing a college degree. Forty-eight students were selected as 2011 Scholarship Recipients at the MSU-Great Falls College of Technology. To qualify for a vast majority of these awards, students must demonstrate academic merit, some financial need, and have submitted a personal statement that speaks to their future educational and career goals. In total, $55,300 was distributed to these students, who were selected by the College's Scholarship Selection Committee, consisting of faculty who review and rank student applications. Various awards, many of which are supported by local donors, fund these scholarships. |
