Nineteen 2009 Graduates Pass Boards
Submitted by Cheryll Alt
Of the July 2009 graduates, the last two passed their Practical Nurse Board exams on April 27, one in Minnesota and the other in Montana. This means that 19 of the 19 graduates have passed the exam on their first attempt.
Students of the Year Celebrated
Students of the Year from each Division are featured on the electronic billboard at Marketplace. Rhonda Kueffler photographed the students and designed the slides. Lanni Klasner negotiated with the billboard vendor and has the ability to change our images weekly or as needed. You will notice other billboard designs for the College in that location as well.
Reception for Student Artists
You are invited to the 'Kid' Russell Art Reception on Thursday, May 13 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM in the MSU - Great Falls Atrium area.  The event will honor students who participated in the Great Falls high school art competition at the CM Russell Art Auction in March. Musician, Artist, and MSU - Great Falls Adjunct Faculty, Chuck Fulcher, will provide entertainment.
A Five Week Adventure Across Australia
Come share the adventures of Tammy Filliater and Roger Peffer, two MSUGF science instructors, as they discuss their travels across Australia during the summer of 2009.  They will share their adventures of snorkeling with whales, scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef, hiking remote "outback" trails in Australia, and Tasmania while visiting spectacular parks and wilderness areas.  It will include close encounters of the whale kind, crocodiles and snakes, Aboriginal art and culture, culinary delights, and marsupial adventures with wallaby, possum and koala!  The presentation will include photos and discussion of Australian climate, parks, wildlife and culture.  They will also discuss "travel on the cheap"- planning trips without expensive guides and tours which will enable you to cut thousands of dollars off the cost of adventure travel.
Join them on May 19th from 7-9 PM in Heritage Hall at MSU Great Falls College of Technology.
Student Ambassador Program
MSU - Great Falls is proud to announce the establishment of the Student Ambassadors Program on campus.  This leadership based program will be a select and prestigious group of dedicated students who will serve as College representatives to multiple interests such as prospective students, current students, donors, alumni, and community leaders. The program will be administered through a one-credit course beginning in the Fall of 2010.

Ambassadors will have the opportunity to be involved within a cohort that focuses on personal leadership development through the advocacy of the College. They will be active in the recruitment of prospective students who are interested in pursuing their own educational goals at the College, they will also be engaged in the establishment of an alumni association at MSU - Great Falls, and will interface with community leaders and legislators.

Upon completion of the program, Ambassadors will have had the opportunity to substantially impact the College through their efforts to advance public higher education in the Great Falls area. They will also receive a letter of commendation from the Dean and will enjoy a 10% discount at the COTtage Bookstore while serving as an Ambassador.
