April is Volunteer Month Submitted by Kim Woloczyn, Program Director, Dental Hygiene April is Volunteer Month and the MSUGF dental students are actively contributing to the community. Check
out the display cases in South Court designed by the second year dental
hygiene students for a project in DH 230 Community Dental Health course. Students researched the mission and vision of each agency along with the need
for volunteers to sustain its operations. Four agencies were highlighted;
Rescue Mission, Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. For MSUGF students who are signed up with
AmeriCorps, these agencies offer a way for students to give back to their
community along with fulfilling AmeriCorps hours required to receive the
monetary benefit.
