New Maintenance Employee
There is a new employee in the Maintenance Department, Craig Lucas. He started on March 1. Craig's area will be the "Upper C" area of the building. Most recently, Craig was employed at UGF. For 20 years, he has been a member of the 219th Division of Red Horse with the Montana Guard. His area of expertise is Entomology (rats, mice, bugs, etc.). Craig was born and raised in Williston, North Dakota. In his free time, he enjoys playing pool and his passion is throwing
"horseshoes", minus the horse.

NISOD Award Winners Announced

Congratulations to the 2010 NISOD Excellence Award
recipients from MSU-Great Falls: Jana Carter, Teri Dwyer, Doug LeVeque,
and Kim Woloszyn. These faculty members were nominated by the
administration for consideration and were recently selected.
Since its inception in 1978, the National Institute for Staff
and Organizational Development (NISOD) has emphasized the importance of
teaching and leadership excellence in institutions of higher education. NISOD
has worked to serve, engage, and inspire teachers and leaders through
conferences, publications, web services, partnerships, programs, and more. Each
year, NISOD recognizes and celebrates outstanding faculty, staff, and
administrators from more than 700 community colleges and other institutions of
higher learning worldwide at its International Conference on Teaching and
Leadership Excellence.
Jana, Teri, Doug, and Kim will attend
NISOD's 32nd Annual Conference later this spring to receive their award. Jana
will also be presenting a breakout session at the conference titled,
"Assessment, Like Revision, Is Recursive: Redesigning and Rethinking Metrics
and Methods for the Assessment of Student Writing."

Missouri River Break
Do
you have spring fever? We have the cure . . . Missouri River Break. The
10th Annual Missouri River Break is March 12 through 14. Seventy
mini-workshops taught by expert instructors offered. Some of the many
topics covered include: computer technology, recreation and travel,
crafts and cooking and much more. Workshop registrations are $7 each
and pre-registration is open through March 10th.
Pre-registration is highly encouraged since many workshops fill

Grab Your lunch, grab your departments to learn "Team
Problem Solving" skills through Missouri River Break, Friday March 12, 2010
from 12-1:30 PM. Our instructor, Paul Bentley, is a leadership instructor
from MSU Extended Learning on the Bozeman campus.
Team
Problem Solving
This
hands-on fun workshop will teach you to facilitate and participate in
effective team problem solving. During the workshop your group will create a problem and solve it using practical team and problem-solving tools.
You will find yourself using the skills you learn at work and at home.
Classes
are $7.00 per person or 3 from the same department for $10.00, if registering
as a group.
Complete
your registration in the Outreach Department.
