Wind Turbine Construction Begins
After a lot of planning, excavation for the campus wind turbine began south of the College bright and early Monday morning March 1. The turbine will be used as a learning aid for the Sustainable Energy Technician (SET) program and to offset the electricity used in the Trades Building. The first concrete pour is scheduled for Friday March 5. On March 8, the plan calls for form placement for second pour and anchoring ring installation. The second concrete pour is expected to take place on March 9 or 10. The arrival of the wind turbine components is estimated for April 5 and target dates for installation are April 6-11. To watch the construction, check out the web cam. The link can be found on the college's homepage at www.msugf.edu. |
Seventh Grade Tours
Submitted by Natalie Nefzger
Would you like
to shape the future, today? Volunteer! We are looking for volunteers to guide
tours for 800 local seventh grade students. The tour days are split with 400
students on April 27 and 400 on April 29. Each tour
is 50 minutes and volunteers would be asked to give 4 tours on each day. Our
goal is to limit each small group to 20 students per guide. If you are
interested, please contact Natalie at 771-5132. We welcome your enthusiasm. |
Interior Design Students Present Boards to Homeowner
On Thursday, February 25, the Interior Design students presented their finished boards to Heather LaMere, the owner of the new MSU - Great Falls COT/Neighborworks House. Ms. LaMere will have a choice of which colors and finishes she likes best for her home. The boards consisted of color palettes for paint, countertops, carpet, vinyl, and lighting. Once Ms. LaMere makes her choice, in about a week, the painting of the interior of the house will begin. In the photo above, Nicole Zimmerman explains her proposed palette. Nicolle is an employee of Holman Aviation, a generous donor to the College's Interior Design program. |
