January 2010 Great Folks Recipients Submitted by Lisa Albert
Kathryn Peterson and Ja Sweat are the Great Folks recipients for January 2010. Kathryn makes her students her top priority and brings enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the Health Information Technology programs. Lynn Ward says Kathryn has helped her on numerous projects, which is above and beyond the scope of being an adjunct instructor. Kathryn's work does not go unnoticed and she is much appreciated. Ja quickly transferred REACH VHS tapes to DVD so they could be used with the Poly-com for class the next morning. Cheryl Alt said Ja then went the extra mile and transferred all 14 VHS tapes to DVDs for spring semester and refined the quality in the process. Ja worked very hard and his efforts are greatly appreciated. You can recognize the outstanding service of a co-worker today by picking up a form in Human Resources or completing the form on the intranet.

Praise for Dental Hygiene Student and Clinic Submitted by Kim Woloszyn
Check out the letter received from a Dental Clinic patient. It confirms our commitment to our students and the affects it has on the patients we see in the Clinic. It is always nice to hear from patients that our Clinic is run professionally and their experience was a pleasant one. It is all because of faculty dedication and hard work to educating our students to become professional dental hygienists!
"I have been seen as a patient at the MSU campus in the Dental Hygiene Program for several weeks now. This letter is to say "Thank you" to your students and their advisors including Dr Letterman, who I have enjoyed working with so much. My student was Shawna Kugler. She has renewed my faith in what I would like my Doctor, Dentist, and Hygienist to be . . . she is very competent and caring. She had a great "bed side manner" (or chair in this case). She truly takes the time to be sincere and it is reflected in all she does for me. I have had several health issues and I am sure she has taken the extra care in researching my medications and interactions etc. I feel very confident that she has what it takes to be successful in her education as a dental hygienist or whatever she endeavors to do. I could not be happier with the care I have received and again am grateful for the experience." |
