DH ChristmasDental Hygiene Students Send Gifts to Troops
Submitted by Melanie Paul
The fall 2009 Student American Dental Hygiene Association (SADHA) community service project was created in order to send oral health care items to those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. MSU - Great Falls Dental Hygiene Program sent toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, lotion, body wash, hand sanitizer, sugar-free gum, and 200 hand made christmas cards. This community service event was made possible by donations from the following: Scott Miller from Crest Oral B Sales Rep, Jack Struyk, Minette Reed RDH, Pamela Emard RDH, Dr. Ameline, Dr. Ivers, Dr. Walgamot, Dr. Maltby, Dr. Anderson, Dr. Bailey, Dr. Bagnell, Patsy English Avon Rep, Montana Supporting Soldiers, and the MSUGF Dental Hygiene Program. Again, thank you to everyone for making this possible! Happy Holidays!

The following individuals are monthly recipients of Great Folks recognition and will be receiving gift certificates to the COTtage Bookstore:

September:   Joel Henderson, Terry Brandt, Quincie Lords, Will Fleming, Garret Cameron, Chad Rebo, Steve Ziegler, Ryan Burke, and Nick Bradford for their commitment to EMS students and for fostering community connections.  We are fortunate to have such a skilled group of professionals on our staff!
October:  Leah Habel and Kelli Engelhardt for presenting Financial Aid and AmeriCorps information to our HOSA students during an October meeting.  Their time and expertise is greatly appreciated.
November:   Cheryll Alt, Brian Cayko, and Leonard Bates for providing information on the Nursing and Respiratory Programs to our HOSA students during a November meeting.  The enthusiasm for your programs is evident and we appreciate your time and insightful comments.
