Michael Jordon Shoes Up for Grabs on Ebay
In 1998, Marty Foxman came across a pair of 1st Edition Air Jordan's. Upon realizing the significance of these shoes, he intended to give them to the College in order for them to be sold in support of creating an American Indian Scholarship Fund. Marty is innately aware of the difficulties Native students face while in college, and he hopes this scholarship will encourage many qualified students to complete their degree, and in turn, improve their lives and their communities. Vote for Dental Hygiene Video
The Dental Hygiene Program created a two minute video as a fundraiser. It has to teach a five-year-old how to brush their teeth. The video made it to the finals along with 15 other videos and the judges couldn't decide, so it is up to everyone to help us win. The 1st prize is $1,000 and it will go towards the pinning ceremony at graduation! MSU - Great Falls's video is the 3rd one from the bottom (it says MSU Great Falls College of Technology).
After you watch the video, scroll to the bottom and click vote now. Vote for MSU - Great Falls! Please forward this to other people and ask them to vote. Follow the link below http://www.adha.org/news/SunstarYouTubeContest.htm |

| 2009 United Way and Montana Shares Campaign
It is that time of year again - the United Way and Montana Shares campaigns. MSU - Great Falls is proud to participate in these campaigns and asks you to consider contributing. Both campaigns are running from now until October 15 (but if you contribute after that time, they will both still accept them).
In the upcoming days, you will be given contribution sheets and information on each campaign. This year, we are attempting to surpass our total giving and participation from last year. No matter what you give, be it even $5, it can help the many people in need in our community. Scott Karaffa is overseeing the United Way campaign, and is doing a raffle again this year. When you turn in either pledge form, your name will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
In addition, there will be a cutest baby picture contest. Faculty and staff have been asked to submit baby pictures of themselves. These pictures will be posted on campus for everyone (including students) can vote by placing money in the jar for the cutest baby. If you have any questions, please contact Scott Karaffa. |

| Social Media 101 for Business
Submitted by Mark Mathson
On Friday, October 2 from 1 - 4 pm in R277 there will be a Social Media 101 for Business class. Are you interested in learning how to leverage social media to benefit your business? Have you asked yourself what is it and how does it work? Twitter, Blogs, and LinkedIn are platforms that easily allow businesses to network, reach customers and clients, build their brand, and increase marketing.
Join Jeff Mangan, Mark Mathson and the SBDC for a free workshop on Social Media for Business. This is a great opportunity for Great Falls and surrounding area businesses to learn the basics of social media and leave the workshop with an online social media presence.
"The world of retail is evolving, and social media tools are creating a wave of change. By involving the company in the various platforms, we are actively working to embrace the change." - Vann's Electronic and Appliance | |
