The Freedom Shrine is an impressive, permanently mounted collection of 30 of the most important and historic American documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the Gettysburg Address. The updated pieces were donated by the Great Falls Exchange Club and installed on the wall extending east from the second floor Atrium walkway.

Mike will also give a general explanation of how tribal governments work with state and federal agencies.

S. and Montana Constitutions and the contributions of women, historically and in present day in state and national government. Bob Campbell will talk about the importance of our state and national Constitutions and what they mean to all of us. He also will give an overview of the history of both. Arlyne and Bob were candidates at the 1972 Constitution Convention.

Med Prep Teachers to Tour Campus
Submitted by Natalie Nefzger
MSU - Great Falls will sponsor a tour for Med Prep teachers from the Great Falls Public Schools on Wednesday, September 9 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The teachers will tour the college's medical occupations facilities. The tour will include an explanation of the features and role of the planned Simulated Hospital.  Because MSU - Great Falls has so many Med Prep courses, this is a great opportunity for Med Prep teachers to learn what is offered on our campus.

Clinic Manager Melanie Paul and faculty Linda Wing successfully developed a record management process for tracking the 10,000 charts accumulated in the Dental Hygiene Clinic.
LGF 2009_10Leadership Great Falls
Courtney Johnsrud and Lanni Klasner are representing MSU - Great Falls in the LGF Class of '10. They promise to keep us informed as their year progresses. Each month, they will spend a day getting to know Great Falls behind the scenes. They will also participate in leadership training and relationship building.
Judy Hay and Ken Wardinsky represented us last year and are participating in their class project 'Vision Xpo.' Volunteers are needed to make this a truly effective visioning experience for the city of Great Falls. Email visiongfxpo@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering some time for this worthwhile project.

Campus Reading Group
Submitted by Jeri Pullum
The MSU-Great Falls Campus Reading group invites faculty, students, staff, and members of the public to join in this year's book discussions. Each year, the group chooses one Montana book, one fiction, one non-fiction, one classic, one book-prize winner, a cheesy mystery and something light for the summer. The December meeting is dedicated to a wide-ranging discussion of other books members have been reading and recommend. The group meets once a month (generally in the evening at Bert & Ernies). Discussions are informal. All that's needed is a love of reading.

This year's book list: September - The Surrounded by D'Arcy McNickle (Montana); October -The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse by Louise Erdrich (Fiction); November - Promise Me (Myron Bolitar Series #8) by Harlan Coben (Cheesy Mystery); December - What else have you been reading?; February - Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather (Classic); March - Mole People: Life in the Tunnels beneath New York City by Jennifer Toth (Nonfiction);  April - Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro (Winner of the 1989 Booker Prize); Summer - The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski (Fiction).

For more information and to receive notices of meeting dates, please email Jeri Pullum.
Bowl for Kids Sake
Submitted by Robin Williams
It is that time again when Big Brothers and Sisters is gearing up for their annual Bowl For Kids Sake fundraiser which takes place on October 24 and 31. Are you interested in participating in this great fundraiser? It is my hope that we can get several teams of five together to help Big Brothers and Sisters with their efforts this year. Last year, several of the dental faculty and students formed a couple of teams and we had a blast. It would be great to have a little competition between departments or clubs affiliated with MSU - Great Falls to see who can raise the most money.  Call Robin at 771-4351 for more information.

The public is invited to hear what the draft legislation has to say and to ask questions of the Coalition.
