Your Community College! |
Month Year |
Greetings!
The 2009 College AID campaign is under way! This year's theme is A Grassroots Approach to Giving. Your gift of a cup of green grass symbolizes that together we can "grow" financial support here on campus to reinvest in our own programs and projects. If all faculty and adjuncts, as well as professional and classified staff, dedicated the purchase of a large latte every month to the College AID program (approximately $3.19), that would create $8,306.76 in one year for the support of our own programs and projects on campus. Think of what you could do with just a little bit more financial flexibility in your classroom or in your office. That small amount you dedicate once a month could go along way for you and your colleagues. Simply fill out the donor card and return it to the Development Office, and if you would like to designate your gift to a particular area, do so by indicating on the card. To get a donation card contact me at x4412, or via e-mail at thomas.figarelle@msugf.edu. Please consider dedicating at least a "latte" a month to the College AID program. Together we can collectively develop the future of our campus community! Thank you... Tom Figarelle, Development Officer |

Carpentry Students On-Site
Pat Schoenen and his carpentry students have been building a home on 28th Avenue and 13th Street in collaboration with Neighborworks. The home is one of 10 Neighborworks Self-Help Homes being built. The owners of the homes participate in the building project.
This photo of Pat and his students was taken on Friday, December 12, right before the weather became extremely cold. The teamwork and mutual respect exhibited by these students as they work together is remarkable. |

Kudos to Excellent Faculty
Submitted by Dr. Heidi Pasek
Since its inception in 1978, the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) has emphasized the importance of teaching and leadership excellence in institutions of higher education. NISOD has worked to serve, engage, and inspire teachers and leaders through conferences, publications, web services, partnerships, programs, and more. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Cherie McKeever, Rebecca Johnson, Bruce Gottwig, Lynn Ward, and Robert Truax as recipients of the 2009 NISOD Excellence Award. These faculty members were nominated by the administration for consideration and were selected earlier this month! | |
