Big Empath Wins in Oregon
Hillsboro, Oregon - Nurture Independent Rep Jayson Gates, of Absolute Resource, along with his dealer partner SmithCFI recently won a 9 recliner Empath project at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, Oregon. SmithCFI has a strong relationship with the Facilities manager at Tuality and developed a lead for a recliner project in the Outpatient Infusion Department. Nikki Christianson, an Account Executive at SmithCFI, asked Jayson to provide a sample review and presentation for the project. Nikki and Jayson then presented as a team to the Infusion Department nurses and the Facility Director, Denise Renne. After the presentation the facility was able to keep the recliner for a week and use it with actual patients in their outpatient facility.
The product they had been using was woefully inadequate for healthcare use. Empath was a major upgrade for the department in terms of its innovation and comfort. The team loved the sit of the recliner, the aesthetic, and the ability to move the patient around while seated. The flip-down arm function and the ability to recline with or without the footrest was also highly reviewed within the Nursing team.
Tuality has historically worked quite a bit with SmithCFI, but this is the first major success for Nurture at the hospital. This small order will act as a springboard to larger Nurture projects with this customer. Jayson will be present at the installation, to both train the staff on the insights behind Empath and to strengthen the Nurture presence at the hospital.
Jayson had another win recently as well with Empath, securing a 52 recliner project at Legacy Emanuel Adult Services in Portland, Oregon. This project was born from a strong relationship between the architectural firm, ZGF Architecture, the dealer, again SmithCFI, and the client, as well a nursing and design team that fell in love with the dual flip-down arms of Empath and the way that increased safety for both their caregivers and patients.
After the opportunity was uncovered at the A&D end, Jayson met with the head designer to review the needs of the project stakeholders. He was able to encourage the design team to ask for dual flip-down arms and central braking in their RFQ documents, which helped Empath stand out and receive the support of the Legacy staff. The buy-in from the nurses as well as designers paid off in a huge way, with the ease of use of Empath helping to differentiate it from the competition. |
