Pocket Featured on the Nurture Blog
A recent 3-part series of posts on the Nurture blog features a discussion of technology, mobile workstations, and how Pocket is a great mobile work solution.
The first post focuses on trends in technology, and was based on interviews with both a dealer and the editor of a healthcare information technology magazine.
The second post focuses on the types of carts available in the marketplace currently, and how the evolution of technology should impact purchasing decisions surrounding these carts.
The final post focuses on the mobile workstation-related research conducted by Nurture and how Pocket is the best solution on the market to solve for these evolutions in healthcare.

New Design Options
We are pleased to announce new Design Options for two of our seating lines! For Outlook Jarrah, an easy access bariatric chair is now available to support higher seat needs and accommodate different users and specific applications.
For the X-tenz Sleeper chairs, an upholstered back panel has been added on both the single and double units. This provides for an additional aesthetic option as well as a softer surface on the inside when used for lying down.

Pocket Wins in Indianapolis
Located in Indianapolis, IN, the Roudebush VA Medical Center offers services to more than 196,000 veterans living in a 45 county area in Indiana and Illinois. Jane Folds, NIR-Worklife Resources for Indiana and Kentucky and Kristen Stuckey, Workplace Specialist at Business Furniture LLC in Indianapolis were involved on the project. They worked closely with the VA Indianapolis Interior Design Department as well as the GI/RI/Rad-Onc Unit Manager at the Medical Center to select Pocket for their new Gastrointestinal (GI) Suite.
This project was a renovation on the 8th floor of the building. This particular unit was previously housed on the 4th floor. The VA selected Pocket based on the ease of movement, height adjustability and minimal noise. Pocket is intended to be used in the GI Recovery Rooms, where it will "make its way" around the suite. Currently, the VA is not wireless, so they will not be utilizing any mobile technology on the surface; however, as the IT mindset changes onsite the non-prescriptive nature of Pocket will allow for accommodating any future technology needs.
Nurture and Business Furniture LLC did a great job of putting together a blitz when the Pocket product launched. This included getting samples in the hands of clients and the A&D community. The Roudebush VA Medical Center was a part of that initial blitz, and obviously having access to that sample influenced their ultimate purchasing decision. Congrats to the team! |
Pocket on House!
A recent episode of the TV show House featured Pocket in a few scenes. Jared Mejeur and Kathy Stramer from Tangram worked on responding to the production staff's needs for a mobile workstation, and just like that, Pocket was a television star! |
Introducing...Stand-In
Stand-In: Our newest high-performance coated seating upholstery. Stand-In is PVC-free and made using a 100% water-based polyurethane - which means healthcare customers who need seating that must withstand harsh conditions and heavy use now have an environmentally -friendly solution. Stand-In is engineered for superior abrasion resistance and meets or exceeds the Association for Contract Textiles (ACT) independent performance guidelines.
And the best part? Stand-In is available in 17 colors (providing a wide range of creativity for designers), falls under Grade 2 pricing, is easy to maintain and is available for order now. Additionally, Stand-In has already been tested and pre-approved for all of Nurture's seating products. For customers where CAL 133 is not a requirement, it's a great option. A solution for CAL 133 is being addressed and we hope to be able to communicate that information in the very near future.
Visit the Finish Library to see images of each color. Samples are available for purchase via AdStock. Item numbers for your sample ordering reference: Swatch card: 11-0002290 Memo sets: 11-0002289
