Empath Featured in MMQB

Empath was recently featured in Monday Morning Quarterback - it's a great story, perfect for adding to presentations and sharing with clients.

Empath aIso featured prominently in a recent McMorrow Report (scroll towards bottom.)

Also in the report was the news that EDAC has now certified over 1,000 designers. A great success for the Center for Health Design and Nurture!

Healthcare Report from McKinsey & Co.

A recent report by McKinsey & Co. shared some fascinating insights on the state of healthcare in the US. Some highlights:

- Healthcare spending in 2009 was a record $2.5 trillion.

- Spending growth however was at a near-record low, in part thanks to the recession.

- Currently, the strongest growth is happening in long-term and outpatient care; weakest growth is occuring in in-patient and health administration and insurance.

Dealer Crucial for Win in IL

The principle players in this project win were Bill Coble and Jill Gocal representing Nurture, Kevin Baltz from Egyptian Business Furniture, Jerri and James Standing from the design firm Standing Design, and the hospital, Memorial Hospital of Belleville, IL.

Egyptian Business Furniture, Nurture and Memorial Hospital collaborated on several projects, the first being their 85,000 sq. ft. Orthopedic Building.  Mitra Lounge and Tandem are the new standards that were set for this project.  Kevin Baltz and Jill Gocal worked directly with Standing Design regarding their initial thoughts on Nurture tandem seating.   Jill provided in-depth information regarding the integrity of Mitra, as well as background information on Nurture, and as a result they felt comfortable positioning Nurture tandem seating to Memorial. This resulted in over $200,000 in net sales of Mitra Lounge and Tandem.

The next project was the OB Birthing Center renovation with custom Opus footwalls, which were presented as an alternative to Millwork, as well as Leela lounge and Senza bedside cabinets for $100,000 in net sales.  They continued at the Memorial Care Center, a short-term rehabilitation center, with Mitra guest and high back chairs and Sorrel for the patient rooms and Tava lounge, Mitra tables and Opus for the lobby and entertainment areas. This project was over $200,000 in net sales.

Kevin Baltz from Egyptian Business Furniture was the instrumental player in positioning Nurture on these successful wins. His 30+ year relationship and dedicated service to the hospital was the key to the project success.  He is a strong advocate for Steelcase Inc. and he always leads with Nurture products.

With the use of CDA pricing and by rewarding Memorial for their volume of business, Egyptian Business Furniture and Nurture were able to position the right products to make this project a success. Together, the right solutions were delivered to meet each project's exact needs, and by assuring Memorial the products would ship on time and in great condition, the Egyptian - Nurture team was able to lock down this series of great project wins.
