Feature Nurture
Educational session E31 "The Exam Room Reexamined" is presented by Travis Leissner, director of KMD Architects, on Monday the 14th from 1:45-2:45. He will focus on Children's Medical Center in Dallas, TX, a project for which he and Nurture created a custom Opus application for their exam rooms.

The Impact of Design on Healthcare Staff Rest and Rejuvenation - A Break Room Makeover Research Study: 1:45 - 2:45 p.m. Monday November 14th.
Featuring Nurture's own Caroline Kelly, this roundtable will share how Steelcase and Spectrum Health developed the design principles, design interventions, and measurement activities for break rooms in a medical-surgical nursing unit and a perioperative unit. |

Cultural Aspects from China - Evidence-Based Design Research and Design: 1:45 - 2:45 p.m.
Monday, November 14th.
China is starting a massive healthcare construction program, with more than 3,000 new hospitals and 750,000 clinics providing healthcare for 700,000,000 people. This session, which features Nurture Design Researchers Melanie Redman and Wenli Wang, will explore the impacts of Chinese culture on healthcare design, and the role of evidence-based design in China and the developing world. You will also hear findings from a collaborative deep-dive field study conducted by Nurture and Georgia Tech. |

One of the key problems for caregivers and patients in treatment spaces involves the challenges of moving patients from the bed to the chair, and back again. After extensive research and development we are about to introduce our new product named Empath at Healthcare Design, in Nashville starting November 13th. This is a breakthrough seating solution that will benefit both patients and their caregivers by helping them safely heal and do their work.

Tradeshow Recaps
The past two weeks have been busy for us at Nurture - we  attended the TEDMED show in San Diego, the Sigma Theta Tau International Biennial Convention in Grapevine, TX, Planetree in Nashville and finally Neocon East in Baltimore.
We took Empath to all four shows and received glowing reviews - attendees loved its comfort, its stylish arms, its center locking casters...the list goes on.
