Jet Trip Leads to Success in NE

PocketThe recent experience and successes of Eakes Office Plus demonstrate the value of a well planned trip to Nurture. Greg Gasper and Quinn Vinson of Eakes had several customers from local healthcare facilities who were about to undergo large facility expansions and needed direction. They deemed Nurture to be the perfect fit, along with the other Steelcase families, to get their customers to where they needed to be. The first hurdle to overcome was name recognition - Eakes is a long time Steelcase dealer which understands the Nurture story, but the issue was the transference of that faith to the customer.  They approached Bill Coble of Nurture on this and Bill said, "Bring them to Grand Rapids". Making the trip was Jim Goulete of Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, NE, Jerry Wordekemper of St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE and Cinda Brudigam of Providence Medical in Wayne, NE.

Bill provided Quinn with a series of pre-visit questions about the customers, and with the answers he helped tailor a showroom tour very specific to their needs. Several of the attendees commented to Quinn, "It seems like the Nurture folks have taken the time to do their homework...I love it!" This feeling never stopped during the entire trip. Bill took the time to describe the research behind each of Nurture's offerings, and also tie the specific features of each product to the actual needs of the customers. Pocket was especially a hit, as the clients loved its maneuverability and its ease of use. Throughout the trip, the clients were able to get direct answers to their needs and appreciated the patient-friendly nature of the products: said Quinn, "The breadth of product offerings that increased the satisfaction level of the prospective patients, not to mention the quality...made the decision for our clients on the spot!" Upon touching back down in Nebraska, all attendees felt they were in position to move forward with Eakes and Nurture on their projects.

Eakes was able to take the lead on all the projects and funnel them through their design program, with Janet Mayo as lead designer on these projects. Eakes has been given several purchase orders, not to mention full compliance of a standards program on all three projects, with total purchase orders looking to eclipse $1.1M in sales over the next 12 months. All of the customers have since asked Eakes to bring in numerous demo pieces from what they viewed in Grand Rapids, with Pocket, Eno and Sync being the most popular. So far, the jet trip participants have ordered 31 Pockets, 4 Eno and 2 Sync caregiver stations. In addition, the trip opened opportunities for Eakes in two of the facilities and they are currently reworking a competitor's thought process in these clients' infusion areas. Through the partnership and collaborative efforts of Eakes and Nurture, this is a true win-win for all involved!
