Nurture continues to receive positive press. In the January issue of Health Facilities Management, Pocket was featured in the "Solutions" section, and garnered praise for its mobility and ease of use, especially for health care workers.

 

In the March issue of Health Facilities Management, an article entitled "Flawless Furnishings", focusing on furniture cleanability, featured a photo of Sonata casegoods.

Northwestern Waiting Space A Big Success
  
The cardiac care program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago wanted to create an inviting family room atmosphere for their extended-stay patients going through cardiac diagnostic testing and monitoring.  The hospital carved out of their normal patient waiting areas in the Feinberg Pavilion a new space Opusspecific for their Smart Heart patients to have that family room atmosphere.  In the Smart Heart Family Waiting Space they can visit, do crafts, watch TV or a movie, play video games or surf the internet.   A big requirement for this space was the ability to change back to a standard hospital family waiting room without major reconstruction, if needed.  Modular casework seemed ideal for this application.  NMH engaged Jeanne Rivard of Office Concepts, a local Steelcase dealer, to help create the solution.
 
Opus matched the criteria!  Ryan Grote, Nurture Area Healthcare Manager, was able to demonstrate how Opus could support all of the functions and still create a warm, inviting feel.  The hospital standard (Carolina Healthcare) lounge furniture was used along with Coalesse Enea side chairs and a Gingko Biloba craft table.  Steelcase Privacy Wall was used to create a wall from the corridor to create more privacy for the family members waiting without closing them off from the rest of the unit.
 
The waiting area was installed in September of 2010 and has been well received by both family and staff members.  This positive feedback has the NMH considering how Opus might be used to create similar environments in other parts of the hospital.
