Impact Urgent Care

Modular over Millwork in Texas

(San Antonio, TX)  Texas Wilson's (TXW) latest healthcare project is a new facility, Impact Urgent Care -- a start up urgent care center with plans to expand and build two more facilities.  The client visited other minor emergency clinics throughout the United States to research the best practices and facility designs.  Their goal was to provide an upscale experience walk-in medical center.

A tight budget, plus the owners' consultant steering them toward competitive millwork product presented significant challenges.  Local firm, Insite Architects, suggested the group look into the advantages of using modular cabinetry as part of the clinic's plan. The quality advantages and the ability to reconfigure, or take the asset with them if they moved from their leased space, was a definite plus.  Nurture by Steelcase's modular casegoods were a perfect fit.

"The client wanted to provide a different experience for their patients," said Cliff Crowell (TXW).  The completed clinic is a fresh, modern, client-centered space designed to engage patients in a positive manner as soon as they walk in.  "As for the furnishings, they wanted furniture and fabrics that were sustainable, would hold up to high traffic use, and had a great aesthetics and fun colors."

Cesar/Folio modular casegoods were used in exam rooms, lab and break rooms.  In addition, a combination of Nurture and Steelcase seating was used throughout the clinic.

The Texas Wilson team employed their experience and resourcefulness to maximize the client's budget - and in the end, won with warranty and aesthetics
