Despite the emphasis placed on it, patient safety and infection control remain major concerns.
Many of these errors are preventable - check out the Nurture Blog for further discussion of this crucial issue. |
Half of All Docs Using EHR
According to a survey from the CDC, over half of physicians report using EHRs to some extent.
Further, another survey of hospital CIO's indicated that 89% of them plan to qualify for stimulus funds to help digitize records by 2012. The EHR movement continues to grow.

Recliner Win in Kentucky
Area Healthcare Manager Bill Coble recently won a sizeable recliner order at Western Baptist hospital in Paducah, KY, which is redoing all 200 of their patient rooms over the next year. The win included the Mineral recliner, Mitra sleeper, and the Mingle side chair. Bill credits Rebekah Schnuck of Petter Business Solutions for the success of this project: "The hospital trusts Rebekah implicitly - she works very hard to earn that. It's as if she's on staff - they are very open with her and also expect a lot of her. She is a valued member of their team and she takes that very seriously."
Rebekah has worked with Western Baptist for years, and has just recently started to find success in their patient rooms. With Bill's help, she sent samples of the Mineral recliner and Mitra sleeper for them to try out in patient rooms and then samples for their "mock up" rooms. All the staff toured and evaluated the mock up and agreed they wanted these for their standard patient room seating. Rebekah noted that Nurture stood out from the competition, and with their willingness to answer and address customer concerns, this win ballooned from an initial 30 room order to eventually outfitting all 200 rooms in this rural hospital.
