Chicago, IL - We asked Susan Hughes, VP of Healthcare for Office Environments of New England, to give us her impression of NeoCon, and specifically, the Nurture showroom. Here are her thoughts:
"Four project managers from one of our major metropolitan hospitals in Boston joined us for a NEOCON tour of the Nurture showroom. They greatly appreciated the warm greeting from many of the Nurture Managers as well as having the opportunity to discuss products with the product design people.
They were particularly intrigued with our solutions that integrate technology with furniture. We have just installed our first Sync application at their hospital for a collaborative area for a primary care physician team. The group was interested in thinking about other opportunities for the product on patient floors and also blending in a "media:scape" setting for shift changes. (On this topic they were also very interested in the eyesight monitor arm.)
Also, Pocket was a big hit! Recently I have been working with clients who are trying to solve how they will handle computers in the patient room and/or point-of-care. Every hospital has a different idea of what they want, but all believe that technology will continue to change and possibly get smaller. This group will be one of the first to receive a sample of Pocket when it becomes available. They appreciated the simplicity of the cart and adaptability for the future, not to mention the targeted price point and had several opportunities for its use in mind.
A family of seating and casegoods such as Tava has been very much needed. The clean design with consideration for the crumb sweep, and power options got positive feedback. As project managers they especially appreciated the "spring seat construction" to avoid puddling! This team was very concerned about maintenance and warranty as well as solving project aesthetic goals.
While our client currently continues to use millwork extensively, they spent some time considering how they might use an Opus headwall or footwall and studied the hidden gas rail (customized) and other features such as the Pocket docking area and garage for trash bin as used in the showroom. The caregiver lounge was a surprise! A combination of the newly designed Folio combined with various Nurture seating products looked beautiful and relaxing. Truly a respite. It was discussed that staff lounges needed much attention in their facility and was extremely important for the clinical staff. (The Opus fire place added to the ambiance!)
Upon return we have many action steps requiring follow up. Most important we will be discussing many solutions that are unique, will solve pressing issues and bring value to our healthcare clients. This customer had a great experience and spent 2 hours in total with us, rounding out the tour in Details and Steelcase showing enthusiasm for Frameworks, Reply, i2i and Node in particular to solve challenges within their hospital campus. It was a pleasure to witness and share their excitement!"
Thank you Susan for your feedback. NeoCon was a lot of fun for us here at Nurture, and we appreciate all of our dealers and their continued support.
