Nurture Places Sonata at Henry Ford Hospital

 Sonata

Detroit, MI - While Henry Ford Health System has been a long-time Steelcase client, the majority of their volume over the years has been administrative in nature.  NBS and Nurture recently won three infusion projects with them, however, after they developed a strong connection with both the modularity and functionality of Sonata.  A successful showroom visit and consultation with NBS over the plans for the infusion bays helped Henry Ford further see the value of modular infusion casework.

Jeff Fredrickson (Nurture Area Healthcare Manager) worked with Pam Kersten (NBS Account Executive) to position the infusion bays at Henry Ford. After touring Henry Ford through their showroom focusing on the embedded insights and flexibility of Sonata, NBS then delivered a sample Sonata infusion bay to Henry Ford for staff/clinician review.  The result of these activities was an initial 8-bay project with two additional projects of similar size to follow.

While smaller in scale than previous orders from Henry Ford, the win(s) were significant for NBS as they demonstrated that incremental business can be found in a down economy and that differentiated products will always have a place in healthcare.

Become EDAC Accredited Today!

Evidence-based design is swiftly becoming the most important movement in healthcare since Band-Aids. The process of using credible research to achieve the best possible outcomes has been proven to be effective, and is redefining how hospitals and patient-care facilities are built. EDAC (evidence-based design accreditation and certification) is a program through which individuals can learn, be tested and accredited based on their understanding of how to apply the process of evidence based design to their building process. Over 300 individuals have become EDAC accredited in the past year alone.

Anyone can become EDAC accredited. From architects and designers to product manufacturers and hospital executives, knowing and understanding the basic tenets of evidence-based design can help ensure that the outcomes you seek to achieve are met.

Accreditation comes with multiple benefits as well. Not only does the accreditation differentiate you with your clients and employer, it also gives you the skills needed to incorporate the newest findings into projects, and the credibility needed to justify expenditures associated with design innovations.

Nurture is the EDAC educational partner of the Center For Health Design. If you are interested in becoming accredited, or in hosting an exam preparation seminar in your dealership, contact Phyllis Goetz at pgoetz@nurture.com, or your local Nurture Area Manager.
