New Hospital in Texas is 98% Nurture
Sunnyvale, TX - Texas Regional Medical Center, a 70 bed general acute care hospital located 20 minutes outside of downtown Dallas, serves as a regional facility for many of the communities east of Dallas. The president of TMRC, Terry Fontenot, had a vision of a hospital with a more relaxed environment, and with a comfortable, welcoming feel. Working with Ascension Group Architects, BKM Total Office of Texas developed a comprehensive solution for all areas of the hospital under a tight budget.
Libby Larson (Nurture Area Healthcare Manager) worked with Debbie Zarsk (BKM) on the project. Their ability to get to know the client and understand their vision for the facility allowed Nurture, BKM and the designers to work in concert with the client and determine the right product for each application. "This resulted in a facility that not only functions as it should, but is welcoming and calming to the patient and their families that receive care," Debbie Zarsk said.
BKM had the expertise to provide everything needed, from the patient rooms to the café area. The ability of the client to utilize 'one stop shopping' streamlined the planning, specification, ordering, and installation of the project, and resulted in Nurture, and other Steelcase brands, providing 98% of the solutions. The Texas Regional Medical Center, a great example of collaboration and cohesive planning, opened for business in September 2009.

Nurture Expands to Saudi Arabia
Officially opening for business March 6th, 2010, the Jeraisy Premier Office showroom, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, recently kicked off their operations with a grand opening attended by VIPs within the Saudi community and Steelcase organization. The opening started with a tour of the Nurture space, led by Area Healthcare Manager Abdul Mokayed explaining the Nurture value proposition of using evidence-based knowledge to create holistic solutions that make a better experience for the patient, the caregivers, and the partners in care -- demonstrated by Sync caregiver stations, Sonata treatment bays, Waiting room and Patient room vignettes.
The new showroom is helping to promote the Nurture brand in Saudi Arabia and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. We are planning with our partner (Al Jeraisy) to have two more showrooms in Jeddah and Damam.
Continuous efforts in promoting the brand in the Middle East, including the installation of our Nurture showroom in Dubai and participation at the Hospital Build Exhibition (Dubai) in June, are working to expand Nurture's global presence.
