Shortly after learning about Nurture's Sonata modular casegoods during a lunch and learn with Dave Mattis (Nurture Area Healthcare Manager), James King (RGG Architects) requested application drawings for his client, Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC, who was undertaking a major renovation of their oncology facility.
The Nurture Grand Rapids team quickly provided renderings. After James's initial meeting with Rex's oncology staff, Dave was invited in for a presentation. Vickie Byler (Director, Rex Oncology) was intrigued and asked to see a Sonata installation.
Dave worked with Doug Bowen (Storr Office Environments, Raleigh NC) to arrange a Jet trip to Grand Rapids - which included a visit to Lemmon Holton Cancer Center (LHCC), a recent Sonata installation. They utilized the visit to introduce the Rex Hospital team to the entire Steelcase family of brands and insight driven products.
The Sonata installation at LHCC demonstrated well Nurture's commitment to research and understanding healing environments. Rex's oncology team was impressed by this application created to address specific healthcare needs.
Rex Hospital had not previously been a Storr Office Environments or Steelcase customer, but is now evaluating our mock-up for their oncology renovation and considering us in their five year master plan - which includes a new cancer hospital.
